In an effort to help restore the identities of those buried in the cemetery, the Odell family began researching the lives of the individuals interred here in 2005. After encountering many fruitless searches and confusion caused by undocumented or speculative information, it became clear that a more formal approach was needed: to build biographies and establish familial connections through well-documented genealogical research.
The result is what you see on this website. Every biography is grounded in verifiable sources, with citations provided at the bottom of each entry. Where speculation exists, it is clearly noted. While many gaps remain—particularly for those who lived and died during Oregon’s early years, before formal records were consistently kept—we’ve done our best to piece together as much as possible.
We welcome contributions from family members who may have additional information about anyone buried in the Odell Pioneer Cemetery. Together, we can help preserve the stories and traditions of the pioneers who helped shape the Webfoot, Dayton, and surrounding communities.
In this section, you’ll find supporting materials such as family trees, a rough plot map, and, in time, a comprehensive list of the historical references used throughout this site.
