Stacy Haman Shelton Turner was born on October 5, 1831, in Patrick County, Virginia. She was one of 12 children, 10 of whom emigrated with their parents to Oregon in 1847. They settled in Linn County, Oregon.
At the age of 21, Stacy married her neighbor, Thomas Alvin Turner. Thomas’ family had also emigrated to Oregon in 1847 and settled in Linn County. The couple had six children, two of whom are also buried in the Odell Pioneer Cemetery: Joseph & Stephen.
The Turners were still living in Scio in 1870, but sometime before Stacy died, the family moved to the Dayton area.
Stacy shares a headstone with her two sons, and is buried near the chapel.
Stacy H. Turner, wife of Thomas Turner, was born in Virginia, Oct. 5, 1831. She came to Oregon with her parents in 1847. In 1853 she was married to Thomas Turner. During the last nine years of her life she was severely afflicted with rheumatism, the last so severely as not being able to walk. She leaves a husband and 6 children.
