Morgan L. Rockhill was born on the 12th of June, 1830, in Clinton County, Ohio. While little is known about Morgan Rockhill, it is believed that he likely travelled on the same wagon train as the Odell family. He arrived in Oregon in September, 1851, and settled on a Donation Land Claim of 162.70 acres south of John Odell.
Morgan married Mary Elizabeth Odell in February 1853. Morgan and Mary were married by the prominent Methodist preacher Rev. James H. Wilbur. Unfortunately, Morgan died less than 2 months after he and Mary wed. He was only 22 years old.
Morgan L. Rockhill is buried in an unmarked grave in the Odell Pioneer Cemetery.
